Entertaiment is anything that creates a state of euphoria in which one forgets their troubles, and wishes that the moment would never end. It is a powerful force that can create joy, and stimulate learning. It is also a tool that can be used to manipulate people and cause harm. Many of the most familiar forms of entertainment are able to cross over media platforms and demonstrate a seemingly unlimited potential for creative remix. This has ensured the longevity of many themes and images. Moreover, the word entertain derives from the Medieval Latin intertenere, meaning to hold inside. Hence, it is possible that what appears as entertainment may actually be a method of attaining perception or highbrow growth.
