Articles about Entertaiment
The word entertainment is used to describe any activity that diverts individuals from their normal everyday lives, removing them from their routine and allowing them to escape into another world. It may take on a number of forms such as watching movies, playing games, reading books, attending concerts, participating in recreational activities and social gatherings. Entertainment has the ability to transcend different media allowing the same themes, images and structures to be remixed over time and across genres. Bates and Ferri (2010) suggest that entertainment can be defi ned as an objective activity that involves communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, that offers pleasure to the consumer and that requires passive audience participation.
