Law is a constantly changing profession. What worked for one client may not be as effective for the next. As such, legal firms need to be open to new ideas at every turn. One idea that has been growing rapidly is the concept of “law new.” While this term can be hard to pin down, it generally means a field of practice that offers legal services in new ways. For example, it can mean working with underserved communities or coming up with strategies that have never been used before. It can also refer to using technology or having a different form of fee structure.

It would also repeal the subchapter in the Administrative Code that contains existing laws regulating these services and instead incorporate those requirements into this bill’s licensing scheme. It would further establish that these services must provide a mechanism for customers to file a complaint with the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, and that they must comply with all other relevant City, State and federal laws.
