Monument to the Last Barn

Art takes the form of memorial architecture in Emma Prusch Memorial Park, San Jose, CA. The barn pavilion augments the park’s program of educating the community on the lost economy of Silicon Valley – the traditional family farm. The structure is designed for meetings, weddings and shelter from the sun.

“The San Jose Public Art Program commissioned the development of the Alum Rock Cultural History Corridor (ARCHC) Master Plan in order to raise awareness about the cultural legacy for the benefit of both residents and the wider community.  Emma Prusch Park: Monument to the Last Barn by Gloria Bornstein pays homage to the bygone era farming and agricultural that once shaped the landscape”
